The Surdulica Cultural Center is the guardian of the tradition and cultural heritage of this part of Serbia.
The Surdulica Cultural Center has recently been renovated and modernized so that the open space around it is designed in a new, modern landscape-architectural concept and is a solution that will adequately cover all the planned activities. The project envisions connecting and permeating the natural potentials of the environment: the shores of the Vrle River, landscape in the background as the scenery of the urban environment and the modern solution to this multifunctional space. The designer’s urban furniture and accessories monitor the urban style of the environment, with the gabions – wire constructions filled with stone, a selection of planting material and its quantity in harmony with nature.
The cultural and technological elements of this space are reflected in artistic sculptures, solar tree and modern game equipment for the youngest users. Space is designed so that with minimal interventions it can be transformed into a concert hall under a clear sky or exhibition space, and on a daily basis, it can serve for recreation, relaxation in nature, gathering and socializing of visitors and citizens.
